STANDARD CHARTERED, COCOBOD REAFFIRM COMMITMENT TO STRENGTHENED PARTNERSHIP

The long-standing relationship between the Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD) and Standard Chartered Bank Ghana received renewed attention when the newly appointed Chief Executive Officer of the Bank, Mr. Korse Godzi, who led his management team on a working visit to Cocoa House in Accra.

The visit provided an opportunity for Mr. Godzi to formally engage with the Management of COCOBOD, led by its Chief Executive, Dr. Ransford Anertey Abbey. Discussions centred on ways to deepen the partnership between the two institutions and explore opportunities for collaboration in support of Ghana’s cocoa sector.

Mr. Godzi commended COCOBOD for the strong and enduring relationship with the Bank and expressed his commitment to sustaining and further developing the partnership. He noted the importance of continued collaboration between both institutions in advancing areas of mutual interest.

Welcoming Mr. Godzi to the cocoa industry, Dr. Abbey reaffirmed COCOBOD Management’s readiness to work closely with Standard Chartered Bank to strengthen areas of collaboration and contribute to the growth and development of Ghana’s cocoa sector.

The meeting also focused on the new crop financing model and the structure of the upcoming notes programme. Standard Chartered expressed satisfaction with the financing structure and systems put in place and assured COCOBOD of the Bank’s participation in the programme.

The engagement underscored the shared commitment of both institutions to building on their longstanding partnership and exploring innovative financing and other collaborative opportunities to support Ghana’s cocoa industry.
